Recap of days 1-10

This is a bit belated, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to roundup the first ten days of the challenge.  I'm already over a third done with this, which is pretty exciting, and I only have a couple of items I haven't worn yet (and they were items that I wasn't expecting to wear a ton, but I'm also not terribly concerned about styling them), and I've also managed to stay away from wearing a couple things all the time.  Other than the round of swap-outs, three of which I had pretty much anticipated from the beginning, I feel fairly good about my choices so far.  I haven't felt too badly that I've been missing out on the rest of my closet, but I'm sure it helps that I've packed up a decent amount of it in preparation for my move.  This also means that I've had a difficult time replacing the two items that I hadn't anticipated subbing, and ended up throwing in a jacket that I wear frequently...but I still haven't come up with item 30.  Maybe I should just do 29 for 30?
Reflecting back on these outfits, I think it's safe to say that my gray boots are one of my MVPs, although now that I finally have the brown boots, I may wear those to death over the next few days, because I'm not sure if there's anything that gray or cognac brown boots can't be worn with.  I'll be working with an even more limited closet once I figure out just how much I can fit into my carry-on, but I'm still excited about wearing these clothes.  I can pick out Day 1 pretty easily as my least favorite outfit of the bunch, but I would have a hard time picking a favorite.  Have any of ya'll found out during the past few days that there are a few items that you're relying heavily on or that you continually pass over?

The shopping ban has also not been too bad.  So far.  I was seriously tempted by a "leather" jacket at Target.  In my head, the shoulder devil made some good points with saying that no one would know (unless I told them), and I didn't have to wear it during the challenge, but ultimately I left without it, and I'm sure there will be other cute and inexpensive jackets out there.  That said, I've been seriously considering doing a selective shopping thing next week when I'm in Chicago over Thanksgiving.  I mean, they have an H and M there!  I wish they did online shops.  But realistically, spending the day downtown with my dad and the bf means that shopping will probably not be a priority the way that has been a part of our traditional family days in past years, so I'll live.  Or potentially beg for early Chirstmas gifts- I'm not too proud to work this for a loophole.

There are some great outfits and blogs that I've noticed through the Google Reader remix bundle, but I've been trying to limit my internet time for a couple reasons, so I haven't had a ton of time to really look through new blogs, but seriously, check this out:  http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/p/remixers.html   It's pretty awe-inspiring how many people decided to participate in this round of the remixing.

  1. Day one is pretty, but day 3 and 8, with the bright colors are my favorites. Wish I could go to Chicago, shopping ban or no.

Best of luck with the remaining challenge.

  2. So many great looks. I think 4 is my favorite. I like the plaid tucked into the skirt.

  4. I love H&M. They finally opened one in Portland and I'm excited to get up there and check it out sometime soon.

I love how you've managed to keep so much color even in a limited wardrobe. If I did this challenge, I'd wind up with everything in black, red & blue. :) Maybe some gray just to spice things up. I still really love your Day 9 oufit!

  5. Days 3 and 4 might tie for my favorite, but it's kinda like kids- it's hard to pick one, and a little unfair to all the others. However, I certainly appreciate getting feedback on the outfits from others!
I didn't want to shy away from color or pattern when picking the items, since that's part of how I dress, but I feel like this challenge has made me appreciate how my neutrals work together.
