Dressing like a cupcake

Add one part fluffy skirt to one part pretty print.  Finish with a bow.  Actually, I'm not really sure what qualifies some outfits as cupcake-like, but for me, this one fits.  It's a bit on the short and full side to wear to school, and while I skirted the issue today (badum-sch) by adding another skirt underneath, I'd love to sew a block of fabric onto it to add a little length, since the additional skirt makes it a little more fussy.  Unfortunately, this dress has some negative associations for me, so I wanted to wear it on a much happier occasion.  I typically spend my weekend days in sweats working, choreing, or slothing, so it was fun to throw on something I was excited about during the day.  I realized on my drive home that the light was still strong enough to take some outside photos, so I stopped by the local park- after driving around aimlessly looking for a park based on my phone's maps app, which just led me into some sketchier areas than I normally find myself in.  I had been hoping to find a quiet little neighborhood park for trying out more public locations, but I managed to survive the crowd without too many worried looks captured on camera.  There was even someone who turned backwards while walking around to look at me weirdly multiple times.

I wanted to highlight this necklace, mostly since it may have been the first item of jewelry that's received a compliment from a guy.  When I first arrived at the party, my friend's friend who was hosting told me she liked my necklace (which is always awesome), but then her husband came in and also said something nice about the necklace- pretty neat, huh?

Aaaand the frequently seen blogger railroad photo...but as you can see below, it's not much of a train.
Mostly I was worried someone of authority might come over and yell at me for being that close to the train tracks (like a cop), so I look like I'm in pain in the first round of photos.
