Day 11 of 30, Making friends with the wall

Guess who's got two thumbs and finally figured out how to focus her camera without actually being in the picture yet?  This moi!  Well, actually it may have been more that I figured out a better place on the top of the parking deck to take pictures slash got over my fear of balancing my camera on a half wall that is 8 stories above the ground.  And I got outside earlier than usual, so I didn't have to try to stand as still as humanly possible.  Actually, my primary motivation was to have different buildings in the background, but having the pictures be more in focus?  Excellent side benefit.

Another excellent side benefit of this whole taking pictures daily business is that I get to spend at least a few minutes a day outside, and it's nice to take the opportunity to appreciate my city (even though it has the worst roads ever).  Everything's prettier when they're lit up by the colors of the setting sun.
Good things about my day (in addition to getting to be outside):
  • Finally getting those brown boots I included in my 30, but haven't worn due to not being sure about the sizing
  • Laughing a lot with friends during acappella practice and singing Christmas music
  • Chai tea latte
  • Maroon tights
  • Finally making a decision at work that will allow me to start doing actual experiments in the near future
Ridiculous and awkward things about my day
  • Being unprepared for a "homework" assignment
  • 3 out of my 4 kitchen outlets now no longer work
  • My hair (it looks deceptively managed here, but was actually bothering me for most of the day)
  • FORGETTING I drove in this morning at the end of the day.  I rarely drive in since it is ridiculous amounts of money to park for the day (potentially a cheap pair of shoes at target).
Realistically, this balances out (forgetting my car counts as two, because this is not the first time I've done this), which is how most days are- they're not rainbows and unicorns all the time, sure, but sometimes it's easy to get bogged down in solvable problems that happen during the day instead of balancing them with the good things that also happen throughout the day.  Anyone else with me on being ridiculously awkward (and trying to be able to laugh at it) today?
